“I am looking forward to presenting my vision for the office of the Secretary of State to the voters of Massachusetts."
AMORE STATEMENT ON PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS
September 4, 2018
BOSTON -- Anthony Amore, the Republican candidate for Secretary of State, issued the following statement regarding the results of the Democratic primary election for Secretary of the Commonwealth.
“I would like to extend my congratulations to Bill Galvin for his victory in today’s election,” said Amore. “I am looking forward to presenting my vision for the office of the Secretary of State to the voters of Massachusetts. I believe that I present a greater contrast to Mr. Galvin’s complacent approach in administering the office than did his primary opponent. I bring a vision for the future of the office, one that includes a strategy for securing our elections to face the challenges that we know we face today and will face in the future. And I will bring a new, unprecedented era of transparency to the people’s government.”
Amore extended a message to those who supported Boston City Councilor Josh Zakim: “I understand your desire for change in the Secretary of State’s office. I agree that it’s long overdue, and I want you to know that I intend to bring my expertise in balancing the imperatives of security with equal and full access for all. I’m looking forward to meeting you and hearing your thoughts over the course of this campaign.”
